While there were many Republicans loses in the midterm elections, most still held their positions which include majority in the U.S. Senate.
However were Trump really shined in the outcome of the Republican party. During Trump’s campaign many Republicans were openly opposed to him. After his presidential victory many Republicans accepted Trump with the caveat that they could turn him into a mainstream conservative. At the end of the first two years though it’s obvious it’s Trump who has remodeled the nay-sayers.
These wins have bolstered the president and his base for the upcoming 2020 elections. If they proceed like the midterms have then things indeed look very good for President Donald Trump.
