Numerous conservative states have approved ballot measures usually championed by Democrats.
The public voted to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act in Idaho, Nebraska and Utah. Yet it’s ironic that Democrats who promoted these measures didn’t get elected in any of the named states.
Perhaps it’s not such an unlikely event though given more Republicans are supporting Medicare for All.
In another case of Republicans adopting Dem ideals, Missouri and Arkansas voted to increase their minimum wage to double-digits.
CBS News reported that Missouri will take the minimum wage from $7.85 an hour to $12 by year 2023. Meanwhile Arkansas will alter the wage from $8.50 an hour to $11 by 2021.
