Israeli intelligence claims that Iran may be much closer to weapon development than U.S. intelligence believes. Achieving nuclear capability within in months if centrifuges are brought back online.
Referencing a file seizure that took place earlier in the year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran had lied about not having a nuclear weapons program. He also claimed that Iran had continued its nuclear production even after signing the Iran nuclear deal.
However the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog cleared Iran this week, saying it had abided by all imposed parameters.
Of high concern is that Iran was roughly two months away from finishing a bomb when the 2015 deal went into effect. Meaning that if production resumes it won’t be long before Iran is back up and running.
Citing the Iran deal as an “embarrassment”, President Trump announced that the U.S. would withdraw from the agreement last May.
