In Ohio, a former judge who served a paltry 9 months for brutally assaulting his wife four years ago, was arrested after she was found stabbed to death.
The body of Aisha Fraser was found in the driveway of her Shaker Heights home.
Her estranged spouse, Lance Mason was originally delivered to a hospital after crashing into a police car at the scene, but is now being held in custody.
Mason was guilty of assaulting Fraser in 2014 after returning from a funeral.
Mason punched Fraser close to 20 times, while repeatedly slamming her head into the car and even bit her on the face. All while the couple’s two young children sat in the vehicle.
This resulted in Mason losing his judge position and in 2015 he plead guilty to attempted felonious assault and domestic violence charges. These convictions would bar him from ever resuming work as a judge.
However, after being sentenced to 24 months in prison, Mason only served 9. He was released from prison and in 2017 he was hired by Cleveland mayor Frank G Jackson to serves as the director of Cleveland’s minority business development.
In the aftermath of his arrest, Mason has been fired from that job as well.
Aisha Falser had spent two decades working as a teacher. In response the Shaker Heights Teacher’s Association started a GoFundMe in Fraser’s name with proceeds going to her two young daughters.
