Things keep getting worse for Facebook. Aside from being used to stream a vicious New Zealand massacre, it has now been reported that an investigation is being made into the social media giant.
The New York Times was first to report that, “federal prosecutors are conducting a criminal investigation into data deals Facebook struck with some of the world’s largest technology companies.”
The investigation is mainly being prompted by exposed secret data deals that gave prominent technology companies access to what was considered private user data. Information like friends lists and private messages were all made available.
This news also comes on the heels of a technical outage that plagued Facebook for over 14 hours.
