President Donald Trump regularly faces criticism at home in the United States. But abroad in the country of Israel he is the recipient of high praise.
Trump has gained massive favor with Israeli residents when he announced that the United States would honor Israel’s claim of sovereignty over the Golan Heights plateau.
“All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a video statement.
Netanyahu continued by adding that as a show of gratitude for Trump’s efforts he would, “bring to the government a resolution calling for a new community on the Golan Heights named after President Donald J. Trump.”
This would be the second landmark in Israel that would be named after the U.S. president after the country separately declared it would name a train station near Jerusalem’s Western Wall after Trump.
