Now this is a twist…
Ed Stack, CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods, may be parlaying his corporate gun control push into a presidential third-party run in 2020.
Politico reports a “focus group in southern Wisconsin” looked at three-way contests between President Donald Trump, Stack, and Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren. The group focused on “showing leadership” on Stack by banning Dick from selling “assault rifles,” after the Parkland school shooting on February 14, 2018.
The selling of “high-capacity” magazines under Stack’s management was also banned, and the corporation raised the minimum limit for long gun sales from 18 to 21 years old.
In October 6, 2019, after an export ban was enforced, Dick’s confiscated $5 million worth of “assault-style rifles.” To stop them out of private hands, they destroyed the rifles.
Stack admitted Dick’s gun control stance has resulted in “a quarter of a billion [dollars]” in loses, yet he was considering the enactment of more corporate gun control.
Weighing a possible race between Trump, Biden, and Stack, the focus group noted how old Biden and Stack looked.
