What is this country coming to…
A group of high school students in Oregon staged a walk out to protest the presence of Chick-Fil-A food carts at their school’s athletic games.
The dueling walkouts took place on Friday, local station KATU reports:
“The (school’s) Gay-Straight Alliance is upset that a Chick-Fil-A food cart is allowed at high school football games. They say Chick-Fil-A supports anti-LGBTQ+ organizations.
“Another group of students walked out of school Friday and were wearing “Make America Great Again” hats. They were waving Chick-Fil-A bags around and were mocking the group that had walked out to support LGBTQ+ students.”
West Linn high school officials say the Chick-Fil-A food truck, which is just one of many chosen by the booster club, will continue to serve students for the remainder of the season – after which the school will create a policy to address the LGBTQ activist students’ concerns.
However, KATU reported Saturday that the Chick-Fil-A food truck was absent from Friday night’s football game.
