When Lori Lightfoot announced she’d only be granting interviews to “black and brown reporters” to mark two years in office, she sparked the kind of outrage that we rarely see.
She somehow managed to unite even reasonable people who stand on the opposite sides issues, even racial politics. We already reported on the story here.
Did she do it because she’s a skilled provocateur?
She did it because, well, how do I put this nicely… she’s one fry short of a Happy Meal.
One look at those pug eyes, and it’s clear that light is on but nobody’s home.
But I digress…
It comes as no surprise that she’s now paying the political price.
The outrage on social media led to widespread calls for her resignation.
How could Lightfoot stop it all?
By somehow getting the support of ‘her’ institutions – the Chicago PD above all.
Who’s in the Chicago police?
People. People of all shapes and colors, including white…risking their lives along with brown and black colleagues.
The epilogue – the largest police union in the city of Chicago (Fraternal Order of Police) has now issued a vote of NO CONFIDENCE to Mayor Lightfoot.
The writing is on the wall for Lori.
To be honest, I’m not sure how this muppet of a mayor lasted this long.
